Florida continues to lead the nation in the number of people signing up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act during a special enrollment period which runs through August 15th.

More than 140,000 people obtained health insurance between Feb. 15 and March 31, according to WINK Digital Media.

One of the first executive orders from President Joe Biden, signed in January, opened a new enrollment period for so-called Obamacare to expand coverage to more individuals and families in an affordable way. These new guidelines are giving more people than ever before access to ACA plans with money saving subsidies to help folks afford the major medical plans, thought to be “too expensive”.

Nationwide, more than 500,000 people obtained health insurance through the Affordable Care Act during this new period, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Have you signed up yet? There are a lot of options! Don’t miss your opportunity to get affordable health insurance for yourself and your family.
