If you’re among the millions of people and across the nation with no health insurance, help is on the way.

A special enrollment period to get a plan through the federal Affordable Care Act health exchange opens Monday and runs through August 15th.

An executive order authorized by President Joe Biden in January, has created the new enrollment period which is intended to expand coverage to more individuals and families in an affordable way.

Officials hope that some of the 15 million uninsured people eligible for Affordable Care Act policies – 9 million of whom qualify for federal financial assistance — will take part.

Individuals making up to about $51,000 and families of four earning up to about $104,800 are eligible for subsidies.
